Bring any clothing you’d like to give away, swap, fix, or improve to the Nashville Mini Maker Faire on September 12. Turnip Green will be hosting a Swap-O-Rama-Rama clothing and fabric play event.
Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a model for textile repurposing: a clothing swap and do-it-yourself workshops that explore creative reuse through the recycling of used clothing.
Here is some more information about Swap-O-Rama-Rama: SORR Website
To participate, come to the Nashville Mini Maker Faire (tickets can be purchased here) and
Contribute – When you attend the swap bring at least one bag of your unwanted clothing and a small donation (any amount accepted). Every swap begins with a giant collective pile of clothing, the unwanted clothing of all who attend. Everyone is welcome to dive in and find their next new/used items from the pile. Take as little or as much clothing from this pile as you like, it’s all free.
There will be folks available to help with a fixing clinic, demonstrations on tips and techniques, and opportunities to learn and play with fabric and clothing.
Feel free to bring your own sewing equipment and supplies — some will be available but more is always helpful and welcome.
Have fun and see you at the Faire!
